ICARUS
Icarus, a short solo choreographed by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui for a legendary ballet star Vladimir Malakhov, was performed in January 2014 in Berlin Opera during the special evening Malakhov & Friends.
I wrote a piece for solo piano that accompanies this beautiful choreography; as Icarus’ flight continues, the music carries him through the powerful culmination until the inevitable fall.
