"Fascinating live music by Szymon Brzóska for string trio and piano"

- Gabriela Bucher, Voce Messe

Yet again I have boarded a boat with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, this time floating to an uncertain place through a shattered and dangerous sea. Ukiyo-e talks about impermanence, fear and insecurity and our capacity of resilience. The Japanese flavour is accentuated by the costumes and original Japanese music, next to which the piano quartet performs my score. While creating the insecurity and tensions in this long-ago world, I drew inspiration, in particular, from the tension and anxiety affecting the LGBTIQ+ community in Poland.
